Year of the Earth Ox – 2009

The Chinese New Year commences on 26 Jan 2009. The Solar New Year actually starts on the first day of spring on the 04 February 2009 according to the Hsia calendar.

2009 is the Year of the Yin Earth Ox sitting on Earth similar to 1949. This sturdy animal symbolizes resilience and fortitude. With patience and hard work, the world will tide over financial debacle before the Ox leaves. Drawing a parallel in Vedic Astrology, 1949 saw the recovery of the world after two world wars and 1997 saw the birth of new hopes after the Asian Financial crisis. 2009 would be the absolute best time to get into property. It will be too difficult to do this in 2011.

Now, let us briefly see how the animals will fare in the Year of the Ox, 2009:

· Being the secret friend of the Ox, the year will be favorable for the Rat (1996/1984/1972/1960) on the professional level.

· The Ox (1997/1985/1973/1961) itself with be inflicted with a self-penalty unless you are a weak Metal Ox. Most Oxen will experience some disturbance to health, earning power or residence.

· It will be a mixed year for the Tiger (1998/1986/1974/1962) there will be “ups & downs” especially in the work arena. Advancements if any will only come after addressing some professional issues.

· The lonely Rabbits (1999/1986/1975/1963) will be lucky to find romance once again.

· The Dragon (1988/1976/1964/1952) will find that those who supported them last year may not be forthcoming to assist them this year and need to find new sources of assistance. They need to adopt novel strategies in their finances, as the money that comes in will find its’ way out quite easily.

· 2009 will be an excellent year for the Snake (1989/1977/1965/1953) with romance strengthening & travel opportunities.

· The poor Horse (1990/1978/1966/1954) will find the Ox exhausting their opportunities. They will need to work doubly hard to get what they want.

· The Goat (1991/1979/1967/1955) will probably be the hardest hit, challenged in their relationships and maintaining their level of incoming monies, which would undoubtedly be lesser than their expectations.

· Being an ally of the Ox, the Monkey (1992/1980/1968/1956) will be in their element to use their charms to get what they want.

· The other ally of the Ox, the Roosters (1993/1981/1969/1957) will also have opportunities come to them but need to take extra care of health.

· The Dog (1994/1982/1970/1958) will be lucky in money matters but need to careful of their temperament.

· The Pig (1995/1983/1971/1959) needs to build up his interpersonal relationships with others to sow the seeds for new opportunities coming in 2010.

On the global front, there are 4 periods

Between Jan and Apr 2009 - hopes will re-arise after the inauguration of America’s first Black President who is also an Ox. He liaise with other world leaders to set the world’s recovery programs in place. He will meet with a lot of resistances trying to get his recovery programs “on the road” but his perseverance and determination will lay the foundation for America to recover.

***From May to Jul 2009, there we will the first hopes of recovery but this will be short lived because of the opposition of the financial recovery programs between America and the rest of the free world

Then, from Aug to Dec 2009 there will chaos. The markets will not know which way to move perhaps anticipating a relapse of the downturn virus; &

+++And finally the period from Dec 2009 to May 2010 we will see the start of a real and lasting recovery that will see the markets rising again with renewed confidence towards the Year of the Tiger, 2010.
